Pennsylvania vote pending to eliminate numismatic sales-tax exemption
Today, the Pennsylvania Senate will consider Senate Bill 76 that will strike down the coin exemption for Pennsylvania. The vote is expected to occur this afternoon. State Senator David Argall says he has the votes to pass the bill.
Members who have concerns about Senate Bill 76 should contact Senate President Pro Tempore Joseph Scarnati (Jefferson County) at 717-787-7084 and Majority Leader Jake Corman (Centre County) at 717-787-1377 before 3 PM ET today. Eliminating coin exemptions from sales taxes could affect the American Numismatic Association's decision to host its 2018 World’s Fair of Money in Philadelphia and consideration of Pittsburgh for the 2019 National Money Show.
